As Lead Warehouse & Logistics Operations Staff Manager, you will play a key role in the end-to-end material management
of the Birr Distribution Center. Operating in a highly manual warehouse environment, you will provide operational
leadership, ensure governance and performance excellence, and support the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution
of warehouse and logistics activities whilst supporting of GE Vernova’s operational and customer commitments.
Working closely with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, Finance, and
EHS, you will drive operational excellence, inventory accuracy, continuous improvement, and digital warehouse
management initiatives. In addition, you will serve as the Deputy Distribution Center Manager, supporting daily
operations and site leadership.
Job Description
Your responsibilities
- Own warehouse KPIs, daily performance reporting, inventory accuracy, and cycle count governance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying operational and WMS improvement opportunities.
- Act as WMS key user, supporting system enhancements, testing, user acceptance, and implementation.
- Ensure compliance with EHS, Quality, and operational standards while promoting a safe working environment.
- Support quality management through audits, defect management, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Maintain visual management standards and promote operational discipline across the warehouse.
- Identify operational risks, constraints, and improvement opportunities, providing transparency to site leadership.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, contract management, and warehouse performance optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure material availability and operational excellence.
- Potential responsibility for leading, coaching, and developing a warehouse operations team.
What you should bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent
professional experience.
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems (SAP required, Oracle advantageous).
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication skills in English and German.
- Willingness to work hands-on on the shopfloor and provide operational support when required.
