The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences within

Scientist (Tenure Track)
Your tasks
- Development of neutron transport and reactor physics methodologies for current and future reactor systems with
emphasis on critical safety and burnup credit, characterization of used nuclear fuel and radioactive source terms, and
radiation transport and shielding applications
- Verification and validation with uncertainty quantifications and sensitivity analyses
- Establishment of AI/ML methods to augment and/or optimize methodologies and associated validation
- Participation in international activities, preparation of research proposals, publication of scientific articles,
and supervision of students
Your profile
- PhD in nuclear engineering or physics
- Strong background and interest in reactor physics and radiation transport simulation methods, with solid experience
in Monte-Carlo codes
- Robust knowledge of statistical methods, as well as uncertainty quantification and sensitivity analysis techniques
- High proficiency in modern programming and scripting
- Familiarity with deterministic reactor core simulations as well as machine learning techniques
