At our location in Niederönz, we are seeking an experienced and open-minded individual to fill the position of a
Systems Design Engineer (80-100%)
What drives this department
Bystronic's vision is to create an automated and seamlessly integrated Smart Factory. The Global Design Team as part
of the Systems Division aims to help our customers in mastering and optimizing their factory end-to-end production and
business processes. Our enthusiastic team is building scalable and modular systems and solutions through the
combination of machines, automation, and software – together with our customers, we define, plan, and implement a
networked production environment.
What you will be doing
- Design and document solution requests together with Sales with high speed, responsiveness, and a strong focus on
quality and completeness
- Ensure end‐to‐end, high‐quality documentation in close alignment with key stakeholders, including R&D, Solution
Sales Consultants, third‐party suppliers, implementation teams, and factory order centers
- Proactively track and steer projects across pre‐sales initiatives and customer orders
- Actively contribute to and support the standardization of processes across the entire end‐to‐end systems lifecycle
Your education & experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in order/project management in a B2B environment or similar
- Experience in handling feasibility or technical request processes in an international B2B setting
- Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus
What you need to succeed
- Customer Focus – You have to understand internal and external customer needs and provide solutions that drive
satisfaction and value.
- Execution Excellence – You combine strong project management skills with creativity in the solution finding to meet
deliverables while respecting the standardized product portfolio and the standardization requirements.
- Ownership & Accountability – You take full ownership on the assigned projects and completeness of all required
documentation.
- Collaboration – As a reliable partner you foster open communication and alignment with cross-functional teams to
ensure seamless information flow and success across departments.
Your edge
- Solid understanding of industrial machinery or technical systems (ideally in sheet metal processing or automation)
- Knowledge of pre-sales and order fulfillment processes in a technical environment
- Familiarity with visualization tools such as CAD, configurators, ticketing tools, structured documentation systems,
and technical evaluation standards
- Experience in continuous improvement methodologies
