We are looking for a Technology & Patent Manager (Industrial Networks & IIoT) to join Endress+Hauser Digital Solutions
and drive our global innovation process, especially in the realm of digital transformation.
Endress+Hauser Digital Solutions is our Product Center for the Industrial Internet of Things—where 200 innovators
collaborate in 12 agile squads, backed by over 200 IIoT patents and an ISO 27001-certified commitment to security—to
deliver cutting-edge hardware, software, and cloud services that unlock the full potential of process-industry data.
What is the role about?

As Technology & Patent Manager, you'll be at the forefront of evaluating technology trends, crafting strategies, and
providing strategic guidance for digitalization of process plants based on Ethernet based fieldbus technologies and
Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) initiatives. Join us in revolutionizing industrial processes and enhancing
customer experiences through digital transformation.
Which tasks will you perform?
You will:
- Evaluate technological trends and their industrial application as a basis for strategic decisions.
- Develop actionable strategies and specifications for implementation based on your assessments.
- Provide technology consulting for digitization and IIoT with a focus on customer requirements in process industries.
- Support development and sales activities and offer training as an expert on utilized systems and technologies.
- Moderate working groups to harmonize internal company standards, guidelines and specifications.
- Represent Endress+Hauser in international standard development organizations and committees.
- Manage and maintain the patent portfolio of Endress+Hauser Digital Solutions in collaboration with the
Endress+Hauser Group’s patent office
- Coordinate third party patent assessments and support patent checks as part of the product launch clearance process
- Organize patent training and idea workshops to foster the creation of intentions and patent applications
What do we expect from you?
You:
- Hold a degree in engineering, preferably complemented with practical experience in product and/or technology
management for industrial process automation.
- Bring at least 7 years of professional experience.
- Have strong knowledge of fieldbus technologies and field device integration in process industries, ideally combined
with an understanding of plant lifecycle workflows (planning, commissioning, maintenance).
- Have experience with intellectual property, ideally in patent processes, portfolio management or collaboration with
patent offices.
- Are able to translate technology trends into strategic direction and actionable concepts for digitalisation and IIoT.
- Have strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience moderating interdisciplinary or
international working groups.
- Communicate fluently in German and English.
- Are willing to travel internationally, approximately 10% of the time.
