As an Internship Product Engineer at Leica Geosystems, you will join a hands-on team focused on testing and validating
software and sensor-based solutions for the construction industry. You will support the development of new product
releases and help ensure our solutions meet the needs of surveyors and construction professionals.
With a strong focus on practical execution, you will work with internal testing tools, evaluate hardware and software
interactions, and contribute to maintaining high quality standards. You will also help translate customer and market
requirements into product improvements.
This role is ideal for candidates with a background in geomatics, surveying, civil engineering, or construction who
want to develop their technical skills in a real-world product environment.

- Be part of a multicultural and agile product management team driving innovation in the field of total stations and
software for the construction industry
- Contribute to new hardware and software releases
- Test hardware and software to ensure our solutions meet Leica Geosystems’ high quality standards
- Work with total stations, GNSS technologies, sensors, and software in real-world testing scenarios
- Understand customer-specific requirements and translate them into product specifications
- Support the product management team in day-to-day activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across product management, development, and testing
- Contribute to competitive benchmarking and the development of product improvement strategies
- Create training materials and supporting documentation
This is you
- Currently studying or holding a degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a similar discipline, with a
strong interest in technical product environments
- Hands-on experience in construction, surveying, or infrastructure-related environments is preferred
- Familiarity with CAD and BIM tools would be beneficial
- Available for a minimum of 6 months and motivated to gain practical industry experience in a real-world setting
- Solution-oriented mindset with a strong interest in structured problem-solving, especially in technical or
product-related challenges
- Curious and eager to explore new tools, software, and technologies
- Interested in analysing and testing products and solutions
- Comfortable working directly with equipment, taking initiative, and turning ideas into action
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); German language skills would be considered a plus
