What you can make happen
The Product Quality Engineering (PQE) Intern will support Birr Distribution Center areas, including Built-in Quality
(BIQ) lines and components. The intern will support warehouse, quality and engineering team as PQE in daily quality
activities, defect tracking, audits, and continuous improvement work.
This role provides hands-on experience in warehousing quality, problem solving, and shopfloor support in a gas turbine
environment.
Job Description
Your responsibilities
- Support daily Genba walks and shopfloor quality checks
- Support updates of BIQ boards and visual management tools
- Assist in defect / NCN (None Confirming Notification) tracking and follow-up actions
- Support 4D problem solver tracker updates (keep data clean and up to date)
- Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) activities with the team
- Support defect review and problem-solving meetings
- Help maintain quality matrix and change point control sheet
- Support LPR audits (Layered Process Reviews) and record audit findings
- Assist in tracking open actions from audits and defect reviews
- Support identification and reporting of issues found during pre-flight checks
- Contribute to basic process improvement and Lean activities
What you should bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Currently studying Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or similar)
- Interest in manufacturing, warehouse and quality engineering
- Basic knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)
- Good communication skills in German & English
- Willingness to learn and work on shopfloor
