The R&D Software Architect plays an integral part in defining the roadmap for and developing the next generation
Excitation products involving reliable real-time control software and digital solutions. You will be part of the global
Excitation R&D Team, responsible for the development of next generation Software, Hardware and System solutions. In
this important role you will support our Scrum teams of talented engineers in an open and informal environment. You
will lead the development of embedded software architecture.

R&D Team Lead
Your responsibilities
- Support a scrum team of talented engineers in an open and informal environment
- Lead the development of embedded software architecture with a primary focus on the system’s application
- Collaborate with the other software architects about the work taking place across multiple SW development teams
- Translate the business requirements into software architectural specifications to be implemented by the SW
development teams
- Make work breakdown and effort estimation for the features to be implemented
- Steer and support the SW development team during the development process, and lead technical reviews
- Own and create the vision for the SW architecture in link with our business products roadmap and key stakeholders
- Contribute to a teamwork-focused approach and provide technical guidance
Your background
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field and more than 5 years of professional experience in embedded
SW/ FW product development and platform SW architectures using C++
- Follow a high standard for software quality e.g., SOLID principles and design patterns
- Experience with working with resource-constrained or embedded systems is preferred as well as knowledge of
cybersecurity in an embedded setting is a plus
- Can work in multi-disciplinary, Agile teams and bring some experience with Git, and collaboration environments like
GitHub, Azure DevOps, or GitLab
- Possess skills to handle fast pace and dynamic product development environment
- Collaborative, solution oriented, analytical, and open-minded
- Fluency in English and willingness to learn German
