    today’s world turning every day? As part of ABB’s Motion Services division, Service Supply Unit Switzerland in Turgi is
    looking for a Senior el. Design & Project Engineer. In this function you are taking responsibility designing end
    engineering of modernization solutions of Medium Voltage Drives and related systems. Our customers operate drive
    systems globally, which are used for mission critical processes such as e.g., cruise-line and other large ship
    propulsion, wind-energy generation, Oil & Gas transport and production, Metal processing and many more. Our
    customer-tailored solutions, modernize drives to state-of-the-art control and hardware while enhancing the equipment
    overall safety, reliability, and performance. Hence, becoming part of our family, you will help to reduce the use of
    resources and contribute to a more sustainable future. In this position, you will be part of the ABB Cadre and create
    value by defining, reviewing, and executing designs as well as leading the electrical part of modernization projects
    and beyond. You will support less experienced team members, and collaborate with Sales, R&D, Product Management, as
    well as other colleagues to continuously benchmark and improve processes and products. Reporting to the Modernization
    Engineering Team leader, embedded in a global business context, and surrounded by top experts in industry from all
    disciplines, you can expect the support required to master your duties, to learn fast, and sloe to awaken your
    creativity.

    Your responsibilities

    - Applying design methods, tools, and engineering practices, to evaluate and execute system designs for MV-Drives and
    related systems.
    - Provide technical concepts and recommendations to customer needs in an early project phase.
    - Delivering high-quality and on-time work in your area of responsibility within project-teams and in close
    collaboration with other EL./Mech. engineers, manufacturing, and testing, as well as project managers.
    - Creating design-calculations, specifications, and documentation to produce, install and commission customized Medium
    Voltage Drive Control Upgrades.
    - Creating and delivering own work plan- and budget estimations, as well as risk assessments relevant to your scope
    within projects.
    - Providing technical guidance and expertise, enabling decision making in concept phases, reviews etc. (with
    stakeholders and functions such as customers, local ABB units, sales, R&D, product engineering etc.).
    - Travelling globally acc. agreement and preferences, between 0% and 15% possible (1-2x customer visits mandatory
    during the introduction into this role).

    Your background

    - Master’s degree in electrical engineering with solid work experience in electrical design/engineering (Drives,
    drive-systems preferred).
    - Sound knowledge in power electronics and ability to apply it.
    - Collaborative, structured, and solution focused. This is reflected in your approaches as well as in your written and
    spoken communication.
    - Innovative with a strong focus on customers and safety.
    - High level of self-motivation, curiosity, and the desire to continuously learn and improve.
    - Fluency in English required, German and other languages advantageous.
